4th of July Tribute

 

On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was formally adopted and the nation committed to enshrining the ideals of liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness into our country’s story. While we have never fully achieved this vision for all, we work every day on its pursuit and the struggle for justice.

So this is our commitment to you:

Today, as threats to our freedom build, we will continue efforts to protect people and our democracy every day. “These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.
